Privacy policy.

This policy explains what HR Assist collects, why, how we store it, and what rights you have over your data. In plain language, without a lawyer breathing down our necks.

1. Who we are

HR Assist is a product of HR assist Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in Bengaluru, India. When you use our product, we are the data controller for the account data (your name, email, billing) and the data processor for employee data inside your workspace.

We use the data strictly to provide the service, bill you, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We do not sell data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not train AI models on your employee records.

4. Where it lives

Workspace data is stored on our primary infrastructure in Mumbai, India (Grove plans) or the region you select (Canopy plans — IN, EU, US, APAC). Backups are encrypted and stored in a separate region for disaster recovery.

5. How long we keep it

While your workspace is active, we keep everything. If you cancel, we retain your data for 30 days so you can reactivate, then permanently delete it (including from backups within 90 days). Billing records are kept for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.

6. Your rights

You can export, correct, or delete your data at any time from your workspace settings. If you're an employee whose data is held by a customer, please contact that customer directly — they're the controller of your data, we're just the processor.

7. Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we'll email every workspace owner at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
